Bob Parker

• Nationally and internationally recognized expert in economic measurement. Consultant to government, non-profit, and business clients. Writes column in “Focus on Statistics,” a regular feature in the magazine Business Economics.
• Served as Chief Statistician of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) for 5 years. Advised on the use of advanced statistical and methodological tools in the conduct of audits and evaluations of government programs and operations and directed work on the operations of federal statistical agencies.
• Developed new and improved methodologies for offshoring, retirement income, key national indicators, fair market rents, and fund allocation.
• Served as Chief Statistician and Associate Director at the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), Department of Commerce. Developed and directed the implementation of new methodologies for improved measures of expenditures for software, real output and prices, and income tax underreporting.
• Received the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive; the Department of Commerce Gold Medal Award, and was elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 1986.
